What's new
We improve HerMeal every week
HerMeal is an independent app, and we keep improving it. Here's what we've changed recently, newest first — many of these came from what users told us. Something you'd like us to fix or add? Tell us in the app under Account → Support & feedback.

-
Fewer false warnings
The protein and calorie warnings on each day now compare with the targets you chose, not your plan’s own average — so a day that meets your target no longer shows a warning.
-
Your diet and allergies, checked on every meal
Every new plan, meal swap and day tweak is now checked against your dietary choices — dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, and allergies like nuts, shellfish, eggs or soy — and against the foods you told us you don’t eat, including tinned and dried forms and other names for the same food. If one slips in, that meal is remade automatically. Meals you rate one or two stars are kept out of future plans too.
-
Today, at a glance
Your plan now shows today’s meals with their times and cook times, marks the one that’s next, and ticks off what you’ve eaten. Each day’s totals sit in one slim card with a bar towards your targets, the day buttons take up less room, and each recipe card is more compact — the dish name with a short description, “I ate this”, “Swap” and “Skip” side by side, and ingredients with the amount on the right and the prep note underneath.
-
A better morning email
The morning email now shows each meal’s time, a short description and cook time, and opens that exact recipe in the app. If a meal is in the freezer for tomorrow, it reminds you to move it to the fridge the night before.
-
Try Prep day for free
Free accounts can now build one full Prep day — the step-by-step plan for cooking your week’s meals in one session.
-
Clearer Prep day
Prep day now says how to cut each ingredient (for example “Garlic, minced”), keeps dry and cooked amounts straight, lists every pan and tool you’ll use, and shows which meals to cook fresh on the day.
-
Smarter tips and an easier Calorie Counter
Tap a day’s protein or calorie warning to see exactly what to add or trim, based on your own meals. In the Counter, type “200” next to chicken and it logs 200 g — and the amount box now fits on every phone. Meals you skip no longer count against your week’s ticks.
-
A cleaner plan summary
The card at the top of your plan is now compact: your daily numbers sit next to your targets, today’s meals are one tap away, and your week’s progress lives right there too.
-
Not cooking a meal? Skip it
Tap “Not cooking this one?” under any meal and its ingredients come off your shopping list — so you only buy what you’ll actually cook. Changed your mind? Tap Undo.
-
Net carbs closer to your PCOS type
If a day in your plan runs high on net carbs for your PCOS type, we now trim the rice, potatoes, bread or tortillas and make up the difference with vegetables and protein — never extra oil. Beans and lentils stay, for the fibre.
-
Try the Calorie Counter free for a day
Free accounts can now use the full Calorie Counter for 24 hours — log your meals and see your calories, protein and fibre — before deciding whether to subscribe.
-
Prep day: “What you’ll need” and safer steps
Prep day now starts with the pans and containers you’ll need, uses one oven temperature, keeps raw meat in the fridge until its step, gives an amount for every spice, and ends with a cool-and-pack step.
-
Quick meals that are actually quick
If you choose quick meals in setup, your week now uses fast dish styles — skewers, stir-fries, warm salads, cutlets — instead of stews and slow bakes.
-
Meal times that fit your eating window
If you follow a fasting window, every meal time now sits inside it, and the optional breakfast suggestion is left out.
-
Halal-friendly vinegars
Halal plans no longer use wine vinegars — recipes use apple cider, rice or distilled vinegar instead.
-
Prep day is easier to follow
Each prep step is now its own numbered card with short lines, times in bold — and you can tick steps off as you go.
-
Portions sized for one person
Meat and fish portions are now sized for one person, with beans, lentils, eggs or Greek yogurt filling out the protein — and more vegetables on the plate.
-
More variety, fewer repeats
Your vegetables now rotate from one plan to the next, no named dish repeats in the same week, and each protein is cooked a different way each time — meatballs one day, skewers the next.
-
“I ate this” and your week in review
Tick off meals as you eat them and see your progress for the week. At the end of the week, tell us how it went and which meals to skip next time.
-
Protein targets from 80 g
Setup now offers 80, 100, 120 or 140 g of protein a day, with a guide by body weight — so lighter women aren’t pushed to more than they need.
-
Reminders that name your meal
Meal reminders now tell you what’s on the menu — “Lunch: Chicken Shawarma Bowl” — so you know what to cook before you open the app.
-
Your AI Coach chat is saved
Your conversation with the AI Coach stays on your device between visits, with a counter showing how many messages you have left today.
-
